A quality casting tin based alloy, suitable for small pieces of jewellery, keys, rings etc. It is an excellent casting alloy giving fine definition, high strength and superior polishing charecteristics. Contains a small amount of lead. This alloy must be used with a high heat silicone such as Wacker M4670 or M4470, graphite powder is the release agent. Casting range 275°C - 330°C. Each stick of JA12 varies in weight, averaging at approx. 300gms.

Directions:
Heat metal in a temperature controlled cooker or pot on the stove until JA12 becomes a liquid, do not over heat the alloy. Pre-dust silicone molds with Graphite. Pre-heat molds to 120C (read silicone technical data sheet) or recycle first cast until desired surface finish is reached. Once cooled JA12 can be polished to a high-quality finish.

Sealers must be applied to avoid oxidation. Various sealers are used from automotive wax to a lacquered base paint. Pre-test any paints for adhesion prior to production.

Please note: the average weight per stick of JA12 is 250-330gms.
