Orchid Wax SB45 is a soy base blended wax.
It produces a reliable smooth, glossy appearance with every pour and has the best cold and hot scent throw compared to other soy waxes. SB45 has exceptional glass adhesion, minimal frosting and no additives are required. Â
SB45 is a softer wax and is not suitable for pouring melts and clamshells.

Description
Orchid Wax SB45 is a high quality soy base blended wax manufactured in the United States. SB45 produces a reliable smooth, glossy appearance with every pour and has the best cold and hot scent throw compared to other soy waxes. Orchid Wax SB45 has exceptional glass adhesion, minimal frosting and no additives are required. Mix SB45 with Kaiser Candle Colour to produce a uniformly coloured candle with minimal colour fading and minimal frosting over time.
SB45 is a softer wax and is not suitable for pouring melts as they will not cleanly remove from the mould.
We recommend using VRL wick range (our 100% cotton wicks) when using SB45 as the CDN wicks may produce more sooting in this wax.
TIP: Mix SB45 with black Kaiser Pastilles or LiquiDye to achieve an excellent stable black candle.
Instructions:
- Heat wax flakes in a double boiler to 75°C and stir continuously until melted.
- Add colour and additives to melted wax and stir until combined.
- Allow wax to cool to between 63°C and add recommended fragrance amounts. Stir until completely combined.
- Pour ideally between 60°C to achieve best finish.
- Keep cooling candle away from drafts or rapid temperature changes.
- Allow wax to set before trimming wick.
Please note: When using SB45, wicks should be trimmed and kept to 0.5cm or shorter to prevent sooting.
